St. Bakhita Day - February 8, 2024

On February 8th we remember St. Josephine Bakhita, the Sudanese nun who as a child had the dramatic experience of being kidnapped and enslaved and has become the universal symbol of the Church's commitment against trafficking.

"Human trafficking is an open wound on the body of contemporary society, a scourge on the body of Christ. It is a crime against humanity." - Pope Francis
