Our September celebration via Zoom brought together Sisters, Associates and colleagues in Canada to celebrate and explore the lessons we’ve learned from Mary Ward, Teresa Dease and our time in the pandemic.
One lesson is that we can no longer live in isolation. The Earth is our home and we must live together to make sure she survives. COVID has reminded us that our lives are in one another’s hands. Another lesson is that all you need is love – to give and to receive. And we have learned that our hands are essential to our sharing love.
While we can’t shake a hand, touch or caress a loved one or hug a friend, we can still reach out with our hearts and our words to those we encounter each day. We cannot spread the disease through prayer, or an act of kindness, or a word of encouragement – or by working for justice.
