Around 11.00 am, the Open House began, with about 500 guests, local parishioners, neighbours, our families and our friends dropping by for tours of the house and grounds.

Many of the local people had never visited the property before, and were greatly impressed by the view of Lake Simcoe from the cliff on which Maryholme is situated. Others, our families and friends, members of the local parish, and those who had taken advantage of the conference facilities or the opportunities for reflection and renewal were immediately at home in their surroundings, enjoying the hospitable and festive atmosphere of the day.
